No matter what province you're in, the introduction of American-style health care in Alberta is a threat to our public health care system across the country.

Please. Take 1 minute and send an email (or call, or even tag the Prime Minister in a post): don't let them allow Alberta's government to ruin one of our most treasured public services.

Thanks to VolunteerFest in City of Leduc for having us this afternoon so we could share what Friends of Medicare is all about — what a lovely day! We had a wonderful time.

Alberta’s Bill 11 opens the door to two-tier, American-style health care — the biggest threat to our public health care system we’ve ever seen. But in nearly 8 months since this legislation passed, we have seen NO action from the federal government to protect patients and our health care systems against this egregious violation of the Canada Health Act.

So tomorrow health coalitions across the country will be coordinating a National Day of Action for Public Health Care. Join Friends of Medicare for an info picket to demand urgent action from the Federal Government, to enforce the Canada Health Act and save public health care!
