Our camp was blessed with its first-ever NHL player visit. Riley Fiddler-Schultz of the Buffalo Sabres took time out of his summer schedule to spend time with us — a very small local community hockey camp.
We went through each locker room to let the kids know an actual NHL player was there and ready to sign sticks and jerseys. The screams were deafening.
Every smile said it all. You could see the spark in the kids’ eyes — that sudden sense of what’s possible. Parents quietly taking photos of their children with Riley, each one carrying a silent “what if.” And in the background, Riley’s mom beaming with pride. Priceless.
As parents, we hope for moments like these for our kids. We are beyond grateful to Riley for making this possible.
