🎨 Reminder: two weeks left to enter our 40th Anniversary Logo Contest!

This year is our 39th season, and we're inviting BC artists to design the logo for our 40th anniversary next year. Entries close Thursday, November 12 at 6:00 PM PST — free to enter, up to 2 designs per artist, emailed to [email protected].

• BC residents — under 19 needs a parent/guardian's consent to enter
• 100% human-created artwork only (no AI)
• Maximum 5 colours, including black and white
• Vector format or high-resolution (300 DPI)
• Keep your entry private until the reveal — public sharing can disqualify it

The winning artist will be unveiled on stage at Light Up Night (Thursday, November 26) and will pull the lighting switch with Santa! It's a recognition award (no cash prize), and the winning design's rights transfer to the Society.

For 40 years, the Festival of Lights has brought our community together every winter. As we prepare for our 40th Anniversary season, our Society wants to feature a new logo created by a BC artist.

If your design is selected, it will become part of Festival of Lights history. You'll also be invited on stage during Light Up Night to present your artwork and pull the light switch alongside Santa.

Quick Summary:

Original human artwork only (no AI)

Maximum 5 colors

Open to BC residents of all ages (under 19 requires parent/guardian consent)

Entries due November 12, 2026, by 6:00 PM

🎄 Another busy Saturday morning at the Festival of Lights warehouse!

Our volunteers were back at it this past weekend, rebuilding one of our pixel tree displays and getting it ready for Light Up.

A lot of work happens behind the scenes before the displays ever make it onto the streets, and much of it comes down to volunteers giving up a few hours of their weekend to lend a hand.

A big thank you to everyone who came out and pitched in, including Mayor Deena Beeston, who spent the morning working alongside our volunteers helping with the rebuild.

Every set of hands makes a difference. Thanks to everyone who continues to help us get Ladysmith ready to shine! ✨🎄
