🏘️ There is a scam happening in Nova Scotia where crews go door to door in neighbourhoods, offering on the spot deals for roofing, siding, paving, or other home improvements. The catch? They take your money and disappear, or worse, they go to “inspect” the area and cause damage themselves, making repairs more urgent and costly.
These scammers rely on pressure, convenience, and the appearance of legitimacy to get you to agree quickly. Protect yourself by:
🚪 Never hiring someone who shows up unannounced.
📸 Ensuring your doorbell camera is working so you can capture who’s at your door.
🛠️ Getting multiple quotes from reputable, established companies.
📝 Checking licences, references, and reviews.
💵 Never paying large amounts upfront.
