🦆 A Belated Happy Father's Day from The Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary! 💙
While we're a day late, we couldn't let Father's Day pass without recognizing the family legacy of our founder.
📸 Featured in this historic photograph is Jack Miner alongside his surviving children--Jasper, Manly, Ted (left to right)--a reminder that behind the conservation pioneer known as the "Father of Conservation" was also a devoted family man.
🌿 Jack dedicated his life to protecting migratory birds, promoting stewardship of the natural world, and sharing his values with future generations. His work helped lay the foundation for modern wildlife conservation, but his greatest legacy extends beyond bird banding and conservation achievements.
Through both his family and his life's work, Jack believed in passing on a love of nature, a strong sense of responsibility, and a commitment to serving others. More than a century later, those values continue to inspire the work of the Sanctuary and the thousands of visitors who come here each year to learn, explore, and connect with the natural world. 🦢🌎
💙 As we reflect on Father's Day, we celebrate all fathers, grandfathers, and father figures whose guidance, encouragement, and example help shape future generations in positive and meaningful ways.
From our Sanctuary family to yours, we hope you had a wonderful Father's Day! 👨👧👦🌿
