The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
•FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
•SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
•THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
•FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Ahead of on October 24, we’re recognizing the ongoing global effort to eradicate polio. 🌎❤️‍🩹

Since 1988, polio cases have decreased by more than 99.9%, but there is still work to do to protect children from this preventable disease.

The World Polio Flag is flying alongside the flags at Town Hall in recognition of this important cause. We stand with the Rotary Club of Innisfil and communities around the world working toward a polio-free future.

World Polio Day on 24 October is a time for Rotary members, public health advocates, and all who want a world free from polio to come together, recognize our progress in the fight to end polio, and talk about the actions we need to take in order to end polio for good.

Today, polio remains endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan. But it’s crucial to continue working to keep other countries polio-free. If all eradication efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze as many as 200,000 children each year.
