Being part of the community as a mentor you get youth that will ask tough questions. This is because we create a safe space to do so, and we’re here to provide those assuring answers. Some responses might be tough to accept, but coming from lived experience on your pathway to Canada can be a starting point to understand you will be ok.

With our unique approach to mentorship, our community will thrive.

We are expanding and building our leadership team! If you’re an individual that’s passionate about youth development through sports, mentorship and academic excellence, we would like to get to know you.

STAC Hamilton is a BIPOC led charitable organization creating opportunities for youth facing barriers through sports participation, Mentorship Through Play and Academic Bridge Programming. We connect youth with career pathways in and around sport, postsecondary education and scholarship opportunities, helping them build stronger futures for themselves, their families and their communities.

Where do you see yourself❓

Treasurer:
This individual will provide financial leadership and oversight to support responsible stewardship, informed board decisions and STAC’s long-term sustainability. 1 position opening
Responsibilities:
-Review budgets, financial reports and cash flow, and explain significant findings to the board.
-Work with the Executive Director and accounting support to monitor revenue, expenses and restricted funding.
-Support oversight of annual financial statements, charitable reporting and applicable filing deadlines.

General Board Member x2:
This individual will contribute to STAC’s governance, strategic direction and sustainability, bringing skills and relationships that complement the current board.
Responsibilities:
-Prepare for and attend board meetings, contributing to decisions and follow-through.
-Review organizational plans for programs, community initiatives and annual events.
-Help develop relationships with potential partners, supporters and community stakeholders.

Community Engagement Sub-Committee Member:
This individual will help build the relationships, recurring support and annual events that strengthen STAC’s sustainability and connection to the community. 4 position openings
Responsibilities:
-Develop an annual activity plan with clear tasks, timelines and responsibilities.
-Identify and approach potential sponsors, donors, businesses and community partners.
-Marketing Support

Suzanne from The Generator ✨ talks to our youth during our digital arts summit about her university experience when she went to McMaster University compared to what is offered now for the group that she was speaking to.

Explaining to the youth about the feelings involved during these times is very important, and Suzanne did a wonderful job making the youth feel comfortable with openly discussing this important component during post secondary years.

From Summit 1: Digital Arts - Jac from Jac Enrile | Ontario Photographer provides youth mentorship through lived experiences on how playing basketball helped shape her media pathways.

Sports is a powerful tool to inspire people to grow their own vision of what they want to achieve. It’s opens the mind, allows you to be creative and gives confidence to want more.

Thank you Rotary Club of Hamilton AM for your on going support. We have been working together since nearly the start of STAC Hamilton and you have been a staple to our success by helping remove bar for the youth of Hamilton.

We are over the top with your individual support outside the club with mentorship, advice and advocacy with other networking and opportunities so we can continue to grow and evolve our Mentorship Through Play program.

Through this intensional summit, youth were introduced to these mentors in their respective roles in digital arts. Discovering their pathways from high school to where they are today.

The summit and overall program design is to support youth to identify career paths in and around sports, that can also translate into success organically.

The next phase will be to support the 50 youth within the summits to our Application Party where they all celebrate their achievements through the summits as we help direct them apply for college or university and into career paths they are exposed to.

Stay tuned for next week as we have a fun and one of a kind summit that has never been done before!

It’s always a great opportunity to stop and celebrate the community with the leaders and teams that put in countless hours to support and encourage those around us.

It’s a team effort and we’re all in this together!

Summer of 2026 we welcomed a new National Partnership with First Tee and Golf Canada.

We had the privilege of being invited to the Canadian Junior Girls Championships where our STAC girls were given an experience of a lifetime.

Through mentorship and experience, they got to have fun while learning the fundamentals of golf and meeting folks of all levels of the organization and discovering their roles in the sport.

The First Tee experience didn’t end there. Since we started, even our STAC Alumni took part in just setting up the course, and having so much fun learning the game themselves to hitting the driving ranges for our year end celebration!

This is what exposure, fun and mentorship does. We believe in the importance of learning and being supported to discover new things.

We capped off the summer with a fun day at the Back to School Festival where we had 540 people throughout the day and had a Firsttee End Zone where youth in the community for to experience first hand and meet the the leaders that helped make it happen.

Thank you for an amazing 2026 season First Tee and Golf Canada , and we’re looking forward to what 2027 brings!

We want to say a huge THANK YOU to our amazing coaches who spend valuable time with our youth in the development year and helping them grow into young adults with life skills that benefit them in and around sports.

They come from all walks of life, ages ranges and skillsets. Together they are who leads the way.

National Coaches Week is here, but they deserve a thank you after every session for their hard work and commitment to STAC in seeing the vision come to life.
