Carol Off’s most recent book, "True Patriot Love: Reporting from the Front Lines of Canadian Sovereignty" is an urgent, timely and powerful primer on who we’ve been, who we are and who we need to become to survive as a nation.

Carol Off’s most recent book, "True Patriot Love: Reporting from the Front Lines of Canadian Sovereignty" is an urgent, timely and powerful primer on who we’ve been, who we are and who we need to become to survive as a nation. Since she stepped down from the CBC Radio program "As It Happens," Carol Off has been on the road talking to Canadians and listening to ever pressing questions about our country’s future.

The Friends of the Haliburton County Public Library raise funds to support programs, services and materials that supplement those offered under the Haliburton County Public Library operating budget. This will be our 18th annual fundraising event and the second time we have hosted Ms. Off.

The County of Haliburton affordability study found that 82% of residents surveyed identified cost of living as a major concern. The County Public Library provides free access to books, technology (including TV streaming), internet, programs, learning opportunities and community spaces.

The library is one of the few public spaces where people can participate without being expected to spend money. Haliburton County Public Library delivers nearly 600 programs annually, reaching people of different ages and backgrounds, while its eight branches provide community spaces throughout County of Haliburton, Township of Algonquin Highlands, Dysart et al, Municipality of Highlands East, and The Corporation of the Township of Minden Hills.
