At SIRCH, weโ€™re always looking for ways to be responsible community members and that includes thinking about what happens to the food scraps from our Bistro and Food Security programs.

Thanks to Kristy, those scraps are now being collected through Hummingbird Hill Garden Services, Community Compost Program and given a new purpose...returning valuable nutrients back to the land instead of sending them to landfill.

Even better, this free compost pickup service is available through Kristy, to private residents too, with weekly or bi-weekly options. Contact Kristy to see if you are in her collection area.

Fresh produce is beginning to arrive, and weโ€™re on track for a wonderful growing season.

A big thank you to our volunteer growers who are already bringing in their harvests for SIRCHโ€™s Food Security Programs. Every zucchini, bean and bundle of greens helps us prepare nutritious meals for people in our community.
