We have a special initiative underway here at Shalom called Blooms of Honour and have just five days to go!

Running from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day, this annual campaign is a beautiful time for our community to come together to enrich the spaces our seniors call home.

Your support has the unique opportunity to transform functional spaces into places of connection, comfort, and belonging across two wonderful projects:
• Shalom – Grimsby Courtyard: We are raising $40,000 to create a new, fully accessible outdoor seating area in our existing gardens so residents can comfortably experience the restorative gift of fresh air and connect with visiting family.
• Faithstone – Hamilton Courtyard: We are raising $100,000 to construct the gardens and courtyards for our brand-new home, ensuring our Christian heritage of care blooms for a new generation of seniors.

For clarity…Blooms of Honour is not exclusively an "in memoriam" campaign. While that is a deeply profound way to honour the legacy of a parent, grandparent, or friend who is no longer with us, it is equally intended to be a live celebration of those we care about today. This campaign is a perfect opportunity to express your gratitude for them and celebrate their life today.

For every gift received, the name of an honouree can be written on a beautiful paper tulip. These blooms have been adorning our glass windows, creating a visible "Garden of Honour" for our residents to enjoy.

We invite you to take part in whatever way speaks to your heart and you can find more information on our website.

Honouring our parents is a lifelong calling—one rooted in love, gratitude, and faith. Whether you choose to direct your gift toward the immediate comfort of our Grimsby courtyard or plant a seed for the future at Faithstone, your generosity ensures our relational care continues to bloom.

May Plant Sale a Blooming Success! 🌷😀

On Saturday, May 30, Shalom Manor welcomed residents, families, friends, and community members to our annual May Plant Sale Fundraiser.

With beautiful sunshine overhead we enjoyed browsing a wonderful selection of plants, homemade baked goods, and many local vendors. The event provided an opportunity for our community to come together in fellowship.

We are incredibly thankful for the generosity shown by everyone who attended and supported the fundraiser. A special thank you to everyone who came out to shop, visit, and spend the day with us. Your support and presence helped make the event a wonderful success.

Thanks to this amazing community, we are pleased to announce that the event raised $9,777.14.

Funds raised will be used to enhance our resident’s outdoor spaces, helping create welcoming and enjoyable environments where residents and families can relax, socialize, and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event such a success from volunteers to our donors. Your support continues to make a positive difference in the lives of our residents.

And don't forget to mark your calendars for next May we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another fantastic Plant Sale and helping you find the perfect plants for your gardens and homes!

Our annual Plant Sale at Shalom Manor & Gardens is almost here, and we are feeling so blessed to prepare for another wonderful day of fellowship and community together!

This year’s sale will feature a beautiful variety of plants 🌿🪻🌸🌺 including colourful annuals, hanging baskets, herbs, perennials, houseplants, greenery and more perfect for gardens, patios, porches, and outdoor spaces of every size. Whether you are an experienced gardener or simply looking to brighten your yard, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. 🌼

Every plant purchased helps support enhancements to our resident outdoor spaces, creating peaceful and welcoming areas where residents, families, and friends can gather and spend time together outdoors.

Just as a tulip blooms year after year, the love of a parent, grandparent, or loved one provides a lasting foundation for our lives.

Blooms of Honour is a special campaign for giving in honour of a loved one in support of the courtyards of Shalom Grimsby or Faithstone Hamilton.
