Happy National Volunteer Week 💙
April 19–25, 2026
This year’s theme, Ignite Volunteerism, celebrates the power of civic participation and community reconnection across Canada.
National Volunteer Week recognizes the millions of Canadians who give their time, energy, and heart to strengthen the communities around them. In 2026 — also the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development — this message feels especially meaningful. It’s a reminder that when we come together in service, we spark something powerful.
To ignite volunteerism is to inspire action. It’s about rebuilding, reconnecting, and celebrating the local stories that shape our communities. Every act of service — whether behind the scenes or front and centre — fuels momentum and lights the way for others to follow.
The West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Auxiliary was founded in 1944, and this year we proudly celebrate our 82nd Anniversary in our new home. We reflect on the generations of volunteers who have made this milestone possible. Their dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment continue to shape the future of healthcare in our community.
This week, we celebrate them.
If you feel inspired to make a difference, we would love to connect with you. Find out more on our website https://www.wlmauxiliary.ca, to learn about joining our volunteer team!
