We had a great day training alongside OakvilleRescue and Toronto Search and Rescue - Marine
Training like this is essential for strengthening coordination, refining search patterns, and improving communication between teams. By working together with partner agencies, we’re able to cover more water in less time, maximizing our ability to locate missing persons or vessels.
This was an invaluable experience and a great learning opportunity for everyone involved.
A few moments from today’s mini SAREX on the water.
Hosted by OMSAR in Oakville Harbour, the photos illustrate what effective SAR training looks like—focused crews, shared expertise, and strong teamwork across organizations.
Crews from GAMRU South Shore Search and Rescue and T-SAR Toronto Search and Rescue-Marine joined under the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary for a day of joint exercises.
OMSAR led the session as facilitator and exercise controller, with a focus on on-scene coordination and coordinated search patterns—key elements in multi-agency SAR response.
Professional, collaborative, and always learning.
Strong SAR partnerships don’t happen by chance—they’re built on days like this.
