A few weeks ago, we had the incredible opportunity to train alongside members of 424 Transport and Rescue Squadron!

SAR Techs jumped from a Hercules aircraft, parachuted down into Lake Ontario, then climbed aboard GAMRU 240 to work through medical scenarios with our crew. They were then hoisted from our vessel back up into a CH-146 Griffon helicopter.

Training alongside 424 Squadron gave our volunteers the chance to work with highly skilled search and rescue professionals while gaining valuable experience.

A huge thank you to 424 Squadron for including GAMRU in this exercise. It was an unforgettable experience for our volunteers and valuable training for everyone involved. We hope to have the opportunity to train together again in the future!

We are incredibly grateful to have received a grant from the Honda Canada Foundation!

Their generous support will cover the cost of servicing GAMRU 240, helping keep our rescue vessel ready to respond when people need us most. As operating costs continue to rise, grants like this play an important role in keeping our crews on the water.

This isn't the first time the Honda Canada Foundation has supported our mission. In 2017, after one of our rescue vessels was damaged during a rescue mission, they donated a pair of Honda outboard motors. Since then, Honda has remained a valued partner, helping ensure our rescue boat is always ready to serve our community.

Thank you, Honda Canada Foundation, for your continued support!

Check out our latest collaboration with NANUK!

Our members worked hard to bring this video to life, and we're so pleased with how it turned out. It showcases not only our crew, but also the equipment that helps us protect our gear while responding on the water.

A huge thank you to NANUK for their generous donation of the waterproof protective cases and for the opportunity to work together on this project. We truly appreciate your support of our volunteer search and rescue team.

We hope you enjoy the video!

A huge thank you to Tino Cipans from the Grimsby Legion for the generous donation of $2,000!

Support like this makes a real difference. Your generosity helps us continue training our volunteer crews, maintaining our rescue vessel, and ensuring we have the equipment needed to respond when emergencies happen on the water.

We are incredibly grateful to serve a community that stands behind us. Thank you again, Tino Cipans, for your kindness and support of our mission.

Happy Canada Day! πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸβ˜€οΈ

From all of us at GAMRU, we hope you have a fun and safe Canada Day!

Our crews will be on the water throughout the day, helping keep everyone safe while they enjoy the celebrations.

If you're planning to watch the fireworks at Charles Daley Park tonight, festivities run from 1:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with the fireworks beginning at 10:00 p.m.

Whether you're celebrating on the water or on shore, please boat responsibly, wear your lifejacket, and look out for one another.

Have a wonderful Canada Day! πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

Thank you to everyone who came out to The Happening in Grimsby yesterday!

Our volunteers had a wonderful time meeting members of the community, answering questions, and sharing more about the work we do on the water.

Events like these are a great opportunity to connect with the people we serve and showcase the dedication of our volunteers.

A special thank you to Adam, one of our crew members, for capturing these photos from the event.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

We had a wonderful time attending the Newport Yacht Club Open House this past weekend.

Thank you to the members of Newport Yacht Club for the invitation and to everyone who stopped by to chat with our crew. We always appreciate opportunities to connect with members of the boating community and share what we do.

We are grateful for the support we receive from communities all along the lake and look forward to seeing everyone out on the water this season.

Our rescue dummy had a tough day! 🌊😬

He might be cold and tired after spending the evening swimming in Lake Ontario but his service is invaluable and he is an essential training aid for our crew members. With the rescue dummy we can simulate: person-in-water recoveries, man-over-boards, medical scenarios and so much more. Training with him gives our volunteers practical hands-on skills that are crucial for real life rescues.
