134 Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Admiral Mountbatten RCSCC ADMIRAL MOUNTBATTEN has had a long and proud history within the Sudbury community for over 75 years. There is no cost to join, and uniforms are provided.

The corps is part of the Canadian Cadet Organization; a youth program aimed at providing Canada's youth ages 12-18 with unique training opportunities in citizenship, leadership, active living and much more! We serve our community through an engaging youth program aimed at building the leaders of tomorrow and promoting volunteerism, citizenship and healthy living. Our namesake, Lord Louis Mountbatt

en, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma, allowed the corps to carry his name "provided they do well". Throughout our history, the corps has earned national recognition as being the top cadet corps in Canada, as well as multiple awards nationally and provincially on the field of competition. The corps continues to uphold Mountbatten's legacy, which is reflected in our motto "It Can Be Done", challenging today's youth to overcome personal and professional obstacles with the life skills they learn here. The organization contributed to the success of many individuals in whatever career path they chose, both in the military or civilian life. We meet Monday evenings 6:00PM-10:00PM at the Sudbury Armoury for weekly training and activities. This is a non-for profit organization and is supported by the Department of National Defence and our civilian sponsoring committee, the Navy League of Canada. Come check us out or look us up online. Update: Please be advised that the Izzy Dolls event scheduled for June 15 has been cancelled.

As a result, we will be holding regular training at the Sudbury Armoury from 1830 to 2100 hrs.

We were incredibly honoured to welcome Sudbury Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) Jamie West NDP , as the Reviewing Officer for this year’s Annual Ceremonial Review (ACR) for RCSCC Admiral Mountbatten and NLCC Sudbury!

The ACR is the culmination of months of hard work, discipline, and dedication from our cadets. Having our MPP join us to review the ranks, present awards, and speak with the youth highlights the strong connection between our corps and the community we serve.

During the ceremony, we were proud to present them with a custom, beautifully wrapped presentation paddle featuring the motto "MAKE WAVES" as a token of our appreciation for their ongoing support of youth leadership and development.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to celebrate the achievements of our sea and navy league cadets. You have truly inspired our corps to keep making waves!

⛵ Reminder: Sail Training This Weekend!
Don't forget that our local sail training is happening this weekend (for cadets who have already signed up: Campsall, Fillion E., Fillion S., Hawke, Pham, Soro and Stocker)

• Location: Navy League Sudbury Sailing Centre, 190 Ramsay Lake Rd, Sudbury, ON P3E 5J1

🎒 What to Bring & Wear
As outlined in the kit list, cadet uniforms are not required. Please dress in appropriate civilian attire suitable for the weather, keeping in mind you will get wet!
Pack the following items:
• Original Provincial Health Card (Must be in your possession!
* Day bag & Water bottle
* Hat & Sunscreen (SPF 50+)
* Swim shorts (or other wet weather pants) & a Shirt
* Closed-toe shoes for getting wet (No sandals or Crocs!)
* Towel & a Change of clothes (for both days)
* Sunglasses with strap (non mandatory but recommended)

Please join us in congratulating Capt Tammy Voltonen on being awarded the Canadian Forces’ Decoration (CD2).

This distinguished honour is awarded to members of the Canadian Armed Forces who have completed 32 years of loyal and dedicated service while consistently demonstrating exemplary conduct and good behaviour.

Capt Voltonen’s commitment to the cadet program and the Canadian Cadet Organizations Administration and Training Service (COATS) has had a lasting impact on countless cadets and fellow officers through the many roles she has undertaken throughout her career.
