GCG welcomes guest artist, Peggy Sloan, to the gallery for the month of June.
Join us for an Opening Reception on Sat. June 6, 2-4pm.
Born and raised in the small farming community of Walton, Ontario, in the heart of
Huron County, my connection to the natural world has been a lifelong source of inspiration. Growing up surrounded by open landscapes and ever-changing skies fostered a deep appreciation for nature’s quiet beauty and subtle transformations.
Photography has been a lifelong passion and creative practice through which I explore presence, perspective, and connection. I am continually drawn to the fleeting moments that often go unnoticed—the shifting quality of light, the movement of weather across a landscape, and the unique energy held within a single moment in time.
My work combines technical exploration with an intuitive awareness of the world around us. Through experimentation with shutter speed, aperture, composition, and light, I seek to capture not only what is seen, but what is felt. I am fascinated by how a familiar landscape can be transformed through changing conditions, perspective, and emotion, revealing new layers of beauty with each encounter.
After more than 28 years as an educator, my creative journey has been shaped by both life experience and a deep belief in reflection and growth. Photography has
become a meaningful way to express my connection to nature and to share moments of stillness, wonder, and renewal.
Through my work, I hope to invite viewers to pause, reflect, and experience a sense of peace and inner tranquility through the quiet power of the natural world.
Hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10am-5pm.
Opening at noon every 2nd Wednesday of each month.
