Fabulous and fun, there was a good turn out for Lisa Golem's Opening Reception on Sat. Oct 3rd at GCG.Lisa let us in on creative process and gave a short demo. Her show, WHERE MUSIC LIVES, combines her love of music with her visual art. Show runs until the end of October.

Lisa Golem's new show at the Goderich Co-op Gallery will be on for the month of October. Lisa's artistry encompasses both music and visual art and in this new show her two loves merge.

WHERE MUSIC LIVES explores the places where music can be found beyond the act of listening. In these paintings, instruments emerge from landscapes, rhythm appears in city lights and reflections, and sound takes shape through colour, movement and imagination.

Some works began with a musical idea; in others, the music revealed itself only as the painting evolved. Moving between landscape, abstraction and whimsy, the collection invites viewers to look a little longer and discover where music might be hiding—in the natural world, in unexpected places, and perhaps within ourselves.

For artist Lisa Golem, a lifelong connection to both painting and music comes together here as a single visual language: one where the world is not only something to be seen, but something to be listened to.

SALTED! As part of the Salt Festival activities on the weekend, the Goderich Co-op Gallery hosted a workshop with artist Melaney Prevett sharing how salt interacts with water colour paints to create interesting effect.

Also, Krista Martin was the winner of our most recent Customer Appreciation Draw.

This September, the Goderich Co-op Gallery welcomes the Bayfield Artist Guild as its visiting artists. The Guild has exhibited annually at the Co-op over the past number of years, and its members bring a range of work from just down the coast.

The Bayfield Artist Guild is a group of artists who live, work, and play along the shores of Lake Huron in the village of Bayfield. The Guild is dedicated to nurturing and inspiring its members, creating an inclusive space for all visual arts and skill levels. Members can look forward to workshops, guest speakers, plein air outings, and access to gallery exhibits.

Earlier this month, the Guild held a special art show called "We Love Where We Live," marking Bayfield's 150th anniversary. The show featured artwork celebrating the community, including a showcase centered on the village's lighthouse.

Goderich residents can see the Guild's work at the Co-op Gallery throughout September.
