After months of research — eight sections, twelve risk categories, municipal consultation, financial modeling, community surveys, and site analysis — our feasibility study is complete.
The verdict: this project is feasible, urgently needed, and the Edson and District Homelessness Task Force Society is ready to advance it. We are seeking capital funding, municipal partnership, and community support to build what Edson has never had.

Here is what we are proposing: a hybrid housing facility of 32 to 40 purpose-built units, integrating transitional and permanent supportive housing under one roof.
Transitional units for adults needing a bridge — stays of up to 24 months, with wraparound support. Permanent supportive housing for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness, on a harm reduction basis. 24/7 staffing. Rent set at 30% of income. Co-located services from Reflections and Recovery Alberta on-site from day one.

The Edson and District Homelessness Task Force has done the research. We have the plan. We have community support. Now we need you.
Follow our journey. Attend public engagement sessions when announced. Talk to your neighbours, your elected officials, your employers about why this matters. If you are a funder, a partner organization, or a municipal leader — we want to hear from you.
Housing is not a luxury. It is the foundation of everything else. Help us build Edson's first purpose-built transitional and supportive housing.

Our proposed housing development is designed to address exactly this kind of gap. On-site social workers. Dedicated case managers. Co-located partners — Reflections and Recovery Alberta — providing real-time service coordination under one roof. As community supports contract, our urgency to build permanent solutions only grows.
