100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay

100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay We are a charitable social club which utilizes group philanthropy for a greater collective impact in our community. Our slogan: Charity, Community, Camaraderie.

We are a charitable social club which utilizes group philanthropy for a greater collective impact
supporting local charities to build brighter futures in Southern Georgian Bay Four times each year, we get together and hear five-minute presentations from three local charities. Then each of our members casts a vote for the charity/project they are most interested in. The charitable project with the

most votes wins a group donation of $100 from each member for a total gift of $10,000+. Your money goes directly to the charity — our organization has no costs and no overhead. The charities get 100 per cent of the donations made and they issue tax receipts directly to you. Our goal is to bring together men of all ages and backgrounds who want to give back to their community. We're also about socializing, networking, and having fun while being generous. Please come out to a meeting and see what we're all about. Check out the "next meeting" page for more information and fill out the form below if you'd like to be added to the mailing list.

Thanks to everyone who participated on March 4th in our meeting and made it a success. We had 67 Members who participated either in person or virtually. A very well attended meeting with a large number of members and guests, a number of them becoming members during the meeting. Of course we would love to see more members come out to these meetings as your participation is important to the presenters.
The three Charity presentations were very informative and it was clear that all were deserving of our support. Ultimately, Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre nominated by Dan Crabb was selected by the voting Members as the charity to which 100 Men Who Care SGB Members will send their $104 donation (remember, $100 for the Charity and $4 for the administration fee charged by CanadaHelps). https://www.canadahelps.org/en/pages/100-men-who-care-southern-georgian-bay-032026/
Donations are to be sent through CanadaHelps. Below is the link to the appropriate page within CanadaHelps. Please use this link as it takes you directly to the 100 Men Who Care SGB page within CanadaHelps which has the nominated Charity already populated on the page.
We will report back to the Membership within the next 45-60 days with respect to total amount of our support. Thanks again for your donations; we do this to help the charities that in turn support our community.

Collingwood, Ontario – January 12, 2026. At its November 13, 2025 meeting, 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay chose to support My Friend's House by donating $11,914.
My Friend's House is a non-profit agency offering support for abused women and children living in the Georgian Triangle. My Friend's House supports some 600 women and their children each year through a Shelter Program as well as Outreach, Transition and Children’s Programs.
Funding support from 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay will go directly to individual and group programming for children, youth and their mothers both residing in the shelter and living in community. My Friend's House children’s programming aims to create opportunities for the family to build resilience and heal from the trauma they have suffered. “We are greatly appreciative of the support through 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay. Their generosity will help us with our children and family programming and we will have provided direct assistance to 75 children by year end, with their help”, said Samantha Jones, Executive Director.

At its September 10, 2025 meeting, 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay chose to support Brad’s Place Addiction Treatment of Southern Georgian Bay (“Brad’s Place”) by donating $12,229.
Brad’s Place was formed in 2018 by 18 individuals, galvanized by the passing of someone close to them due to drug addiction. Their vision was to create a place where youth and young adults in the Georgian Triangle area could find therapeutic guidance and support to overcome addiction and rebuild their lives.
Since then, in collaboration with Bayshore Health and local youth centres, Brad’s Place has identified and supported youth and young adults seeking help to overcome substance use challenges and reintegrate as contributing members of the community.
Fifty percent of the funding received from 100 Men Who Care SGB will help launch Brad’s Place’s newest initiative, The Lucy Project: Mentorship Through Art, Story & Skill. This mentorship program pairs participants with local mentors — tradespeople, artists, farmers, and crafters — to learn hands-on skills, build confidence, and rediscover a sense of identity and purpose. Funds will cover mentor honorariums, workshop supplies, facilitation, and a community showcase.
“We are pleased to support the kick-off of Brad’s Place’s Mentorship Program,” said David Trafford, Leadership Team Member of 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay. “This donation will not only support the operational needs of Brad’s Place but also help inspire a new approach to recovery — one that shifts the narrative from stigma and shame to hope and empowerment.”
“We are deeply grateful for the generosity of the 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay,” said Paul Lopes, Chairman of the Board, Brad’s Place. “Their support strengthens our ability to offer meaningful programs like The Lucy Project and to build community connections that truly change lives.”
Brad’s Place also welcomes community members interested in volunteering as mentors for The Lucy Project or helping out in other ways. Those wishing to get involved can reach out through www.bradsplace.org or contact the team directly.

Collingwood, Ontario, September 15, 2025. At its June 2025 meeting, 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay chose to support Candlelighters Simcoe by donating over $12,200 to support their programs and services for families impacted by childhood cancer in Simcoe County and the surrounding area.
Candlelighters Simcoe was founded in 1990 by the parent of a childhood cancer patient. They are a not-for-profit, volunteer organization providing support services for pediatric cancer patients, and to those they depend on for strength and support. The programs and services support the needs of the entire family, helping alleviate both the emotional and financial stress that families of children with cancer deal with daily. The programs are facilitated by parents whose children have been diagnosed with cancer.
Those support services and programs include parental group meetings; expressive art therapy for the children; teen group activities; bereavement support and more. Financial assistance is provided through an emergency relief fund and Christmas sponsorship programs. The School Support Program includes presentations to classmates of the impacted children, educators, administrators and school board staff.
More information at https://www.candlelighterssimcoe.ca/
"Your child has cancer" are words no parent should hear. As an organization that primarily relies on community donations, being chosen as the recipient of the 100 Men Who Care Southern Georgian Bay contribution has had a significant impact. These funds allowed us to increase the parking support for parents at the start of their child’s cancer journey. Additionally, this generous donation ensures we can continue offering gas cards to families — a vital support during countless trips for treatment and care.”
“The childhood cancer journey is incredibly challenging. Knowing there is a community standing behind these families, offering both financial and emotional support, means more than words can express. Thank you for making a meaningful difference to the small children facing what no child should.” – from Cheryl Gotthelf, Board Member, Parent Liaison
