Today we celebrate the strength, resilience, and leadership of women across our community.💕🏠

On International Women’s Day, we recognize the women who lead, advocate, volunteer, and show up every day to support others.

We also honour the extraordinary women we serve. Women who continue moving forward through challenges many never see.

At the Busby Centre, we witness strength every day. In the women rebuilding their lives. In the volunteers who give their time with compassion.

In the staff and community partners walking alongside people navigating difficult moments.

Together, this work is about navigating the shortest path from homelessness to housing and ensuring women in our community have access to the support and resources they deserve.

Today we celebrate every woman.

🕊️ In Loving Memory of Louise Stinson 🕊️

We are saddened to share the passing of Louise Stinson, who served as Executive Director of The Busby Centre from 2006–2008 and was part of our organization’s journey during that time.

In 2008, Louise hired Sara Peddle, now our Executive Director. Years later, in 2024, Louise and Sara reconnected, sharing memories from their time together and reflecting on how The Busby Centre has evolved over the years, while remaining rooted in care, dignity, and community.

We extend our sincere condolences to Louise’s family, friends, and all who knew her. We are grateful for the time she spent with The Busby Centre and the role she played along the way. 🦋
