Northumberland County is completing a Trails Network Study to guide the future of recreational trails in the County Forest. The study will explore opportunities to improve and expand the trail network, address conflicting uses and develop a 10-year strategic plan. This is an important opportunity for NTR members to have a voice.

Before the changes made in 2009, off-road motorcyclists had access to a much larger network of single-track trails. Today, we have only one. As a club, we would like to work with the County to restore access to suitable former trails and expand riding opportunities through responsible planning.

Please complete the survey and explain why more single-track trails matter to you. Share your own experiences and consider highlighting these priorities:

Safety and reduced congestion: More motorcycle single-track trails could help separate off-road motorcycles from larger vehicles, including ATVs and side-by-sides. This would spread riding activity across the forest and reduce encounters on shared trails.

Responsible trail stewardship: NTR members already help maintain the trails. Our club has contributed more than $3,000 directly to the County this year toward trail maintenance, alongside our volunteer efforts and support for forest facilities, including outhouses.

A stronger partnership: We are grateful for our Forest Use Agreement and the County’s ongoing support. We want to build on that relationship by helping plan, maintain and, where approved, restore or develop trails. Our members helped build trails in the past, and we are ready to contribute again.

The study is our opportunity to put forward practical ideas and demonstrate that NTR is a committed partner in caring for the forest.

*NTR Youth Enduro*
The NTR Youth Enduro was a tremendous success, and it would not have been possible without the dedication, time, and hard work of our volunteers. A special call-out goes to Ian, Noal, and Chris for their support and commitment throughout the event.
Most importantly, we want to recognize Dennis and Tam, who spent days preparing the course and ensuring everything was ready for the riders. His effort behind the scenes made a significant difference and helped create a safe, organized, and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
Thank you to everyone who came from near and far to take part in the event, support the riders, and contribute to such a positive day. Your participation and enthusiasm are what make events like this possible. Thank you again to all who helped make the NTR Youth Enduro such a memorable success.
