💔 CAARS CLOSING ANNOUNCEMENT💔
After six incredible years of saving lives, advocating for animals, building a rescue community, and pouring our hearts and souls into this organization, it is with heavy hearts that we announce that CAARS (Camrose Animal Alliance Rescue Society) will be closing its doors.
This decision has not been made lightly. Six years is a lot of time, energy, sacrifice, and love invested into something bigger than ourselves. There have been countless late nights, emergency calls, hard decisions, happy endings, heartbreaking losses, and animals who got a second chance at life because of this organization.
So, let's make one thing absolutely clear: CAARS is closing due to board burnout and the lack of people willing to step forward and take over the necessary board positions. THAT IS THE REASON. There are NO other reasons.
There have been plenty of rumours circulating, and I want to be very clear that rumours are just that — RUMOURS. Please don't take speculation, assumptions, or secondhand information as facts. If you don't know the actual circumstances, please don't contribute to spreading misinformation about an organization that has spent six years doing its best to help animals in need.
Rescue is hard. It takes a village. And behind every animal saved is a group of people giving their time, money, energy, homes, and hearts to make it happen. Eventually, even the strongest people can reach a point of burnout, especially when the responsibility continues to fall on the same shoulders and there is nobody willing or able to step up and carry it forward.
At this time, myself personally and the current temporary board want to express our deepest gratitudeto every single person who has been part of this journey.
❤️ To our supporters who donated, shared posts, attended events, and cheered us on.
❤️ To our adopters who opened their homes and gave our animals the futures they deserved.
❤️ To our foster homes who welcomed animals into their lives, often with very little notice, and helped them heal, grow, and prepare for their forever homes.
❤️ To our volunteers, previous board members, and everyone who stood beside CAARS throughout these six years.
❤️ To every person who chose to believe in us, support us, and be part of something that made a genuine difference.
You have all been part of this story, and we will never forget that.
Please know that we are committed to making sure our remaining animals are appropriately homed and that outstanding matters are properly addressed before we officially close our doors. Our priority remains the animals and ensuring they are cared for through this transition.
This isn't how we imagined the end of this chapter. We would have loved to see CAARS continue for many more years, but sometimes acknowledging that it's time to step back is necessary, even when it hurts.
Six years. Countless lives changed. Countless animals given another chance. Countless people brought together by the simple belief that animals deserve better.
And for that, I will always be proud of what CAARS has accomplished. ❤️
🐾 IN HONOUR OF SIX AMAZING YEARS OF SAVING LIVES…
Please share your CAARS alumni, your adopted babies, your happy endings, and your favourite memories in the comments below! We want to see those familiar faces and celebrate the lives that were changed because of this rescue.
Let's fill this post with the stories that matter — the animals who found their people, the families who found their companions, and the lives that might have ended very differently if CAARS hadn't been there.
Let's celebrate what we built, rather than allow rumours to define how it ends.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for six years. Thank you for the trust, the support, the memories, and for being part of our journey.
With love and gratitude,
❤️ The CAARS Team 🐾
