Mayor Stasko has proclaimed September 9 as Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Awareness Day in Camrose. This day recognizes the successes and contributions of individuals who were prenatally exposed to alcohol, while raising awareness and education, fostering understanding, and supporting individuals and families affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).

In honour of Dolly Parton and her incredible love of books, reading and encouraging children to dream big, we wanted to do a little something of our own.

Dolly spent decades sharing joy, kindness and light with the world - and in our own small way, we’d like to pass a little of that light along.

So this week at The Essentials Boutique, children’s books are on us. 📖✨

Whether it’s a favourite story, a brand-new adventure or one of those books a child insists needs to be read approximately 47 times… we hope a few more books find their way into little hands and home libraries this week. 💙
