Let me tell you who we are looking for.

Not the loudest student.
Not the student with the highest grades.
Not the most connected.

We're looking for the student who keeps showing up anyway.
The one who lost his or her parent but refused to give up on education.
The one who sits through lectures while quietly wondering how next semester's fees will be paid.
The one carrying grief, responsibility, and ambition all at once.

That student exists in Ishiagu right now.
Maybe they're reading this.
Maybe you know them.
Maybe you are them.

This month, YOUTAF wants to support a few students from Ishiagu with tuition assistance.

But first, we need to find them. If you know a student who fits this description or if you are that student visit Comr Chinedu Emmanuel's page for the application details.

Please share this post. One share could help us reach a student who is thinking about dropping out because they can no longer afford to continue.

There are young people trying to finish school without parents, steady support, or certainty about tomorrow.

Losing a parent changes everything.
School fees become a question mark.
Daily survival becomes the focus.
And dreams slowly start to feel optional.

This is the reality for many orphans around us and this that is why this month, we are sponsoring the tuition fees of a few orphans.

So they don’t have to drop out of school just because life got hard too early.

The selection process is currently ongoing on Comr Chinedu Emmanuel's page.

If this speaks to you, don’t just scroll past.

Engage with it, share it, help it reach the young people who truly need it.

And if the month of May didn't go as planned for you, don't be too hard on yourself.

It just means the next one has to be more intentional.
At YOUTAF, we don’t believe in perfect timing, we believe in starting where you are.

The government will not save you and I say that with love.
Especially in seasons like this when promises get louder again.

Because I’ve watched too many brilliant young Africans place their future in the hands of systems that don’t know their name.

Waiting for policies to shift.
Waiting for jobs to appear.
Waiting for things to finally make sense.

Sorry to break this to you but nobody is building a ladder specifically for you to climb, so you either wait or you start building your own way up.

And I’ve seen what happens when someone makes that shift:
The young person who learns one skill properly- their income changes. The one who applies for opportunities they were never told about- their environment changes.

The one who stops overthinking and just starts- their life changes.

Not because the system suddenly became fair but because they stopped outsourcing their future.

Hold systems accountable where you can but don’t pause your life while waiting for the outcome. Because what you build in the meantime is the only thing that really stays with you.

That’s the space YOUTAF exists in. We’re not here to motivate you into silence.
We’re here to help you learn skills, find direction, and start building something real even if you’re starting from zero.

If this is the kind of thinking you need more of, you’re welcome to stay.

Positive affirmations can’t go out of fashion. The world changes, but your inner voice still needs direction.

What if we’ve been preparing students for the wrong thing entirely?

This may sound extreme but look at what school actually trains people to do.
Pass exams.
Memorize content.
Repeat information.
Follow instructions.

Then suddenly, the moment you graduate, the rules change completely, you’re expected to:
find opportunities
solve real problems
communicate clearly
build income for yourself
adapt to uncertainty

None of which most people were directly trained for.
And yet we act surprised when graduates feel unprepared.

The uncomfortable question is are we producing educated people or just exam passers?
Some will say: “School is not supposed to teach everything.”
Others will say: “You are responsible for learning more on your own. Both can be true.

But a lot of young people are not struggling because they are lazy or unambitious, they are struggling because they were trained for one system and dropped into another.

One system rewards memorization and the other rewards adaptability. So maybe the question is not: Is education useless? Maybe the question is: What exactly are we preparing young people for today?

Because the world has changed faster than the structure meant to prepare them and young people are the ones paying the price for that gap.

What do you think should schools focus more on exams or on real-world readiness?

One Day This Will All Make Sense.

The delayed opportunities, the constant restarting, watching people your age move ahead while you quietly try to keep yourself together.

Nobody really talks about how exhausting it is to look okay on the outside while your mind is full of uncertainty.

Some of you are smiling online but panicking in real life. Some are trying so hard not to become bitter.
Some are one more disappointment away from giving up completely.

But maybe this season is doing something in you that you cannot see yet.

Maybe one day, you’ll look back and realize that the confusion, rejection, delays, and silent battles were shaping you into someone stronger, softer, wiser.

One day this will all make sense.
Until then, be patient with yourself.
