Ujamaa Grandmas

Ujamaa Grandmas Ujamaa Grandmas is a group of over 300 women in Calgary, Alberta and area who are part of the Stephen Lewis Foundation's Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign.

Ujamaa Grandmas is a Calgary-based non-profit society that raises funds and awareness in support of African grandmothers who are raising children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. We hold fundraising events throughout the year and have a Speakers' Bureau to provide presentations about the work of the Foundation with grandmothers and orphans in sub-Saharan Africa. There, grassroots projects receive funding to provide food, housing, school fees, grief counselling, and HIV/AIDS education.

We are delighted to share that our annual Fabric & Yarn Sale, held earlier this month, generated an incredible $222,763 in gross revenue — an achievement that speaks to the generosity, dedication, and spirit of this remarkable community.

This success belongs to all of you.

Whether you donated the items that made the sale possible, sorted and priced merchandise, volunteered your time before or during the event, organized, cleaned up, promoted the sale, and/or shopped and encouraged others to attend, every contribution mattered. Together, you created an event that was not only successful financially, but also joyful, welcoming, and inspiring.
