Change of Appointment ๐Ÿค

โญAs senior cadets age out of the Program, others must step up to lead in their place.

Saturday, May 30, before marching off the parade for the final time, CWO Jake Gullage passed on the Regimental Sergeant Major's drill cane to the current Acting RSM, MWO Anthony D'Agata.

MWO Victor Hesslegrave also presented MWO D'Agata, A, with a Challenge Coin, which he had personally received upon his completion of the Basic Parachutist's Course in 2024. ๐Ÿช™

Following these bittersweet moments and marking the parade's conclusion, the cadets of 3133 conducted a march past in honour of the graduating cadets:
CWO Jake Gullage,
MWO Victor Hesslegrave, and
MWO Grace Hicks.

Saturday, May 30, Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps 3133 The Algonquins conducted our 26th Annual Ceremonial Review.

๐Ÿซก It was an excellent parade, with a march past, awards, and dynamic displays. Speeches were presented by Mrs. Kylee O'Rourke, 3133 Support Committee Chair; CWO Sarah Surtees, Reviewing Officer; and LCdr Nadine Leblond, Commanding Officer.

Thank you to all the friends, family, and community who came to support the cadets!
Shout out as well to the Cadet representatives of RCACC 204, 2250, 2912, and RCASC 547 for joining us as guests, and providing media support. ๐Ÿ“ธ

Stay tuned for awards posts!

RCACC 3133 sends a heartfelt goodbye and best wishes to Cadet Master Warrant Officer Victor Hesslegrave as he ages out of the Cadet Program, celebrating his 19th birthday.

From mirror shining his parade boots to recieving his Canadian Forces Basic Parachutist's qualification in summer 2024, MWO Hesslegrave has spent the past seven years with the Cadet Program accomplishing whatever he set his mind to do. Always maintaining a high level of physical fitness, Hesslegrave has advanced to regional level competitions in both biathlon and marksmanship, subsequently being presented with the corps level award for Most Fit of 2024, 2025, and 2026. As a Distinguished Marksman, he received the First Commanding Officer's Award for Top Marksmanship Shot of 2023, 2025, and 2026. He was also recognized with the Award of Dedication in 2024, and the Legion Cadet Medal of Excellence in 2025.

Another highlight has been the challenge of participating in both Petawawa and Storm the Giant Regional Army Cadet Expeditions. A qualified Mountain Bike Instructor, Hesslegrave attended Blackdown CTC in summer 2025 as staff for the Expedition Team Member Course. ๐Ÿšต

More recently, he has served as the corps' Drum Major, leading the band on parade and encouraging them, as well as other cadets, to achieve excellence for themselves, striving to be the best they can be.

His parade boots will be difficult to fill, and his presence will be missed at 3133, but we wish him all the best for the future, as he transfers from being a valuable asset to the corps and Cadet Program, to that of the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, where he plans to become a Materials Technician this fall.

RCACC 3133 bids Cadet Chief Warrant Officer Jake Gullage both a fond farewell and happy 19th birthday as he ages out of the Cadet Program.

Over the past seven years, Jake Gullage has proved to be a fantastic asset to the corps and Cadet Program, displaying exemplary leadership and skill during both local and regional level training activities. He has competed in biathlon and marksmanship, qualifying as a Distinguished Marksman and earning the First Commanding Officer's Award of Best Shot of the corps at the Zone Marksmanship Competition in 2024. He has also received the Esprit de Corps Award, the Award of Dedication, and most prestigiously, The Lord Strathcona Medal, which is the highest award bestowed to a cadet, in recognition of excellence.๐ŸŽ–๏ธ
Also awarded Best Outdoorsman of 2022 and 2023, Gullage went on to showcase his outdoors skills, staffing Rocky Mountain CTC's Expedition Team Member Course in summer 2025, countless Field Training Exercises, and the 2025 Cadet Expedition Site weekend. During his time as a staff cadet, he was presented with a certificate of recognition for his dedication and commitment.

Gullage's service medal has been well earned. His presence and leadership as the corps' Regimental Sergeant Major will be greatly missed at 3133, and we wish him all the best for the future.

Call sign Concrete โ€“ Out.
