This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the startup of a new youth centre in Burk’s Falls.
As a representative of the Village of Burks’ Falls, the Youth Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination and scheduling of Youth Centre recreational programs and activities for youth aged 12 to 18 years, and the management of the Youth Centre. Duties encompass creating schedules, providing training, offering support, and monitoring programs and services.
This is a contract position of approximately 20+ hours per week, at a rate of $25 /hour. Evening and weekend hours will be required.
Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership, communications, conflict management, problem solving and organizational skills are required.
The Youth Coordinator must provide a Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, and a CPR “C” with AED, First Aid Certification will be required.
A Youth Recreation Leadership Certificate, a post-secondary diploma in Leisure Studies, Social Services, or related field with a focus on teens would all be considered assets.
