Sportsmanship

In a sport that demands dedication,
discipline and resilience, this individual
stands out not only for her skating and
coaching abilities, but by the way she
treats every person around her. She
reminds us that being a great athlete is not just about the medals or performances - it is about kindness, encouragement and respect for others.

At simulations and practices, this award recipient is always cheering everyone on. Whether a skater lands a difficult jump, completes their solo or simply gives their best effort, this person is there with support and positivity. She understands that every
skater has their own journey in skating and she makes people feel valued no matter their level, experience or learning style.

As a coach, this person is fair to everyone, patient and encouraging. Sportsmanship is about lifting others up, showing respect and celebrating not only your own successes but the successes of those around you.

Thank you to this award winner for showing us what Sportsmanship looks like on and off the ice.

The Sportsmanship award is presented to Lexi Laushway

Star 1 Love to Skate Award
This skater is always enthusiastic about what we are doing whether it is an on ice or off ice activity. She always has a smile on her face, and the smile seems to get bigger when she is in front of a crowd. Whether it’s a Simulation Day or Ice Show Day , this
skaters face just lights up when she is
skating in front of a crowd and I never have to ask this skater if she loves to skate. Her skating shows that.

This skater experienced her first
competition this season on home ice and she did amazing - coming away with an overall Silver ribbon at her very first Star 1 competition. Seeing the pure joy and love of the sport of skating while she was competing was very rewarding, and this skaters’ pride shined brightly when she found out she received Silver while celebrating with friends and family.

In their very first year at the Star 1 level, this skater achieved an impressive milestone by passing Star 1 Skills, Star 1 Dance and Star 1 Freeskate. This skater will be advancing to Star 2 next season- an
exciting and well earned step forward.

diligently and continues practicing until each skill is mastered. This skaters
