What can a pencil do?

In Mbulamuti, Kamuli, a simple pen or pencil became a reminder that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, create, and dream.

Through the Pen, Pencils & Possibilities Project, we supported children with essential school supplies — because sometimes, small acts of support can open the door to bigger possibilities.

One child. One pencil. One possibility. One future.

Care. Support. Community.

Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women who continue to rise, even when the odds are stacked against them.

Across many communities, women carry the weight of responsibility, creativity, and resilience. They build, nurture, innovate, and lead - often with limited access to opportunities that should already be within reach.

At AZONETA, we believe empowering women is not charity. It is one of the most powerful investments we can make in building stronger communities and a more equitable world.

When a woman is empowered, families thrive.
Communities grow stronger.
The future becomes brighter.

Today we honor the women who continue to create, lead, and inspire change every single day.

Happy International Women’s Day.

Last Christmas, SMILE reached the Kasabuni settlement in Nairobi, Kenya 🇰🇪

Through the leadership of our volunteer Kennedy Otieno, 18 children from low-income households received Back-to-School Packs with exercise books, pens, pencils, erasers, and hygiene items to help them prepare for the January school term.

Sometimes a small pack can make a big difference in a child’s confidence to return to school. 📚
