2026 IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s weekend is here! Please join us Saturday, May 30th in Bracebridge at the Sportsplex Soccer Field and Outdoor Track and Sunday, May 31st in Huntsville at Conroy Park at 11:00 am. Come walk, have some fun and help the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka provide vital programs, support and education to those living with dementia and their caregivers!

What to expect at the event:

Cash 50/50 draw
Prizes for best team “costume” and other spirit awards
Lions Club barbecue tent (Dominos Pizza tent included in Bracebridge) and refreshment tent
Family fun area for kids of all ages
Bring a picture of someone you wish to honour in our Memory Garden
Live music performed by Muskoka Dixie in Bracebridge and Holly Ballantine in Huntsville
Knight Hawks Entertainment photo booth

The Alzheimer Society of Muskoka is pleased to announce the launch of its Adult Day Program, designed to support individuals living with early to mid-stage dementia while also providing meaningful daytime respite for caregivers and families throughout the Muskoka region.

Beginning June 1, 2026, the program will offer structured, engaging daytime support in a safe and welcoming environment. Participants may attend either Mondays or Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. during an 8-week session.

The Adult Day Program is carefully designed to balance routine and stimulation, helping participants maintain connection, confidence, and quality of life. Each day includes a variety of cognitive, physical, and social activities that encourage engagement, familiarity, and overall well-being. Nutritious lunch and snacks will be provided each program day. Spaces are limited and advance registration is encouraged.

IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s 2026 - Come walk with us and support Alzheimer’s services in your community!

The Muskoka IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s is coming soon! This year, a walk will be held in Bracebridge on May 30th at the Bracebridge Sportsplex, 110 Clearbrook Trail, Bracebridge ON, P1L 0B9 and in Huntsville on May 31st at Conroy Park, 120 Brunel Road, Huntsville ON, P1H 1R2. Both Walks will run from 11 am to 2 pm.

Whether you walk in honour of a loved one, in support of a friend, or simply to give back, your participation matters. The event is welcoming, inclusive, and filled with a strong sense of purpose and community spirit. It’s an opportunity to connect, remember, and take action together. Every step taken helps raise critical funds for local Muskoka programs and support services that make a real difference for families across our region.

Day 4 of Volunteer Appreciation Week 💙

Today we’re honoured to recognize Anne and Karin, who have been dedicated volunteers with the Alzheimer Society for years. Through their consistent weekly—and sometimes twice-weekly—visits, they have built meaningful, personal relationships with the clients they support.

Over time, they have come to know each individual in a genuine way, taking the time to engage, listen, and share in conversation. These visits offer valued moments of connection and companionship that clients truly appreciate.

Their warmth, reliability, and attentiveness help foster comfort and familiarity, contributing positively to the overall experience for clients, their care partners, and their families.

We wish to thank Anne and Karin for their ongoing commitment and the care they bring to their volunteer role. We are grateful for all that they do!
