Wine Witch on Fire by Natalie Maclean

This book was chosen for the month of April’s book club reading

I would describe this book as honest and intriguing.
The author writes about one year in her life, when her life is turned upside down. Her husband leaves her and she is bullied on line. She explains what happens to her. The depths of despair, the anger and the hurt she feels at this time.

Natalie works as a wine writer. She was named the Worlds Best Drinks journalist and has won four James Beard Foundation Journalist awards. She loves wine and writes and blogs about it. There are many YouTube films where she features wine tasting and pairing.

This book bares her soul. She is crushed by the online male mobs going after her career. There is overt bulling and sexism. We learn how she overcomes all that was thrown at her in a year. How she comes out stronger and with a new man in her life!
Her style of writing is edgy, honest and vibrant

Most of us liked the book. It was punchy, very immediate all in the time frame of a year Those that did not, thought the subject matter unappealing. Natalie’s whole life appears to be devoted to wine tasting.

À partir du 1er mai, un tout nouveau système de réservation de PEB sera lancé. La nouvelle méthode sera plus simple et intuitive, en réservant simplement le titre souhaité dans le catalogue en ligne. Les titres empruntés apparaîtront dans votre dossier d’abonné/historique de prêts. De plus, les renouvellements seront possibles.
