It looks like mother nature wants to move on to the next season. Sadly to say the grooming has stopped and trails are closed. The Athens & District Snowmobile Club would like to say THANK YOU
First of all THank YOU to each and every landowner we have for supporting our club and letting us on your property to make trails. Without landowners, these awsome trails would not be possible. Because you let us on your property, it let's us see some of the natural beauty in the area. THANK YOU
THANK YOU to the executive team that take countless hours out of there busy schedule to step up and help make it all happen, even when the snow is gone. You all have a huge role in making the Athens Club what it is today. THANK YOU
THANK YOU to ALL the volunteers that help out with all the other projects that take place. Trail making, trail signage, placing pickets, talking with landowners, signage and picket removal in spring, wing nights in season, club rentals, maintaining the club property, and let's not forget brushing out the trails. We made a call for help this winter after an ice storm and a huge amount of volunteers and landowners came out to clear trees from the trails and make it possible for the groomer to get through to make the trails smooth again. These are just some of the things that are done because of the love of the sport. All these things are not possible without you. THANK YOU
THANK YOU to all the sledders out there. We have a sign in sheet inside our clubhouse and each year it is amazing to see how far people come from, to ride our trails. Our club recieved a lot of kind words about our trails and clubhouse. We had a couple wing nights that the trails were open for and we had groups of riders from Harrowsmith area, Carleton place, North Augusta area and of corse our locals from close by. Those nights were a huge success. THANK YOU
THANK YOU to our groomer operators and mechanics that work countless hours day and night to make the "white ribbon" as good as it is. We had a groomer "hick up" this year on a Friday afternoon, and one of our operators drove to Barrie to pick up the parts that were needed. When he got back to the club in the middle of the night to drop the parts off, there was a mechanic and an operator waiting in the shop for the parts. By 3am the groomer was headed back out to make "ribbon". These people have full time jobs and still make it happen. THANK YOU
If we accidently missed you,we are very sorry. THANK YOU
Don't forget to mark your calenders, we have another wing night coming up on March 26th.
