St. Francis Advocates

SFA has been supporting individuals with developmental disabilities since 1984. We currently have 13 locations across three counties in Southwestern Ontario.

We are a Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) funded developmental services agency that provides group living and community supports for adults with Autism and Developmental Disabilities. We are part of the Developmental Services Ontario (DSO) network of agencies that provide 24/7 supports, Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports, and employment opportunities for individuals in our service. Together, we are "Dedicated to Making a Difference"!

We’re proud to have several members of the SFA leadership team participating in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) training this week alongside colleagues from developmental service organizations across our region.

Supporting people through difficult situations is at the heart of what we do, and opportunities like this help strengthen the knowledge, skills, and connections that allow us to better support our teams, the people we serve, and one another.

A heartfelt thank you to Lambton County Developmental Services for hosting this valuable training and to Brian Bennett for sharing his expertise.

When organizations come together to learn, collaborate, and support one another, our entire community grows stronger. 💚💙

Picnic Day 2026 was filled with sunshine, great food, live music, laughter, and plenty of smiling faces! ☀️

It was wonderful to see so many people supported, families, employees, and friends of SFA come together to enjoy the day, connect, make memories, and celebrate the relationships that make our organization so special!

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and to our incredible SFA Social Committee who helped make the day such a success!

Another big thank you to our vendors Burns Restaurant/Catering and The Sugared Spoon Dresden & Thamesville for making our day extra delicious and to Justin Latam Music for keeping us singing and dancing all afternoon! 🥰

Adam and Mike headed off to Toronto to enjoy a great day watching the Jays! They both were so happy to see their team win! 👏😀

David recently started volunteering at 2 different places in his community. The Petrolia Legion and St. Andrew’s Church. Dave has always been a hard worker and enjoys being helpful and having a purpose to his days. 🥰

He’s been so happy and proud of himself with these new opportunities in his own community. If you run into him, I’m sure he will fill you in on his new success! 😁

Matthew and Daniel had an amazing time at their annual Bowling Banquet last
