It's back! We had to postpone this event originally due to unforeseen circumstances, but luckily, we were able to reschedule it! We welcome you to Downsizing with Style -brought to you by local expert, Brant Hamilton Brown. Join us for an inspiring and entertaining presentation on how to downsize with confidence, creativity and style. He will offer us ideas, inspiration and real life tips. 🎨 A BIG DAY FOR YOUNG ARTISTS AND AN EXCITING NEW CHAPTER FOR OUR COMMUNITY HALL!

Today, the Upper Clements Community Hall is hosting its Youth Art Festival, featuring a juried exhibition in two age categories and plenty of beautiful original art for sale!

This celebration of young talent has been made possible through a generous grant from the Annapolis County, and we’re grateful for their support!

We’re also delighted to recognize Sally O’Grady of the Bonnett House Art Gallery in Annapolis Royal, whose generous donation at our summer art festival continues to make a lasting difference.

In her honour, today’s awards bear her name, with prizes funded through her gift.

But Sally’s generosity has given our Hall something even more enduring!

We’ve just installed a professional gallery hanging system, allowing local artists to rent the Hall by the hour to host their own exhibitions!

For emerging artists, affordable exhibition space can be difficult to find. We’re excited to offer a welcoming, accessible venue where artists can showcase their work, connect with buyers and gain valuable exposure.

It’s one more way our little community Hall is making a big difference! ❤️

Please drop by today 11-3 to celebrate our talented young artists and perhaps take home a beautiful piece of original art!

Picture it: You are out shopping and somebody with a hearing impairment is struggling to communicate with a shopkeeper, and you can jump in and save the day. Imagine how you would feel in an emergency if perhaps that was your only mode to communicate -how handy would that be? And for the naughty ones, imagine you being able to send subtle messages to your bestie at a party! We are making it possible with this course and we hope you will register.

Our youth art exhibition is coming up Saturday, October 17 from 11 to 4. We will be showcasing original artwork by local youth – available for purchase. You can also join our raffle for an amazing piece of professional art. This is a jury exhibit with awards, you could be buying a painting from the next Picasso! ⛈💨Are you ready to weather a storm? What would you do if you needed to evacuate?

The Town of Annapolis Royal’s Environment Advisory Committee is hosting an Information Session on Emergency Preparedness on Saturday October 17 from 1pm - 4pm at the Annapolis Royal Library.

Experts from the Province, County and emergency response organizations will be presenting on topics such as general emergency preparedness, the Nova Scotia Guard, how to “Fire-smart” your home, and keeping pets safe. There will also be a presentation on research regarding how forestry practices can affect wildfire behavior.

Annapolis REMO (Regional Emergency Management Organization) and Intact Insurance will have information tables with more information.
