The Upper Clements Hall Association was the latest recipient of the Annapolis County Generator Grant Program in the amount of $3000, to support a generator for the community hall.

The Generator Grant Program helps community organizations strengthen emergency preparedness and support their neighbours when they need it most.

We’re proud to support organizations like Upper Clements Hall Association as we work together to build stronger, more resilient communities across Annapolis County.

Some of the best ideas take time. As we reflect on the success of the Upper Clements Art Festival, we want to acknowledge where it all began.

Long before our current board came together, Denise shared a vision for a community art festival. She brought the idea forward at an Annapolis County Economic Development town hall, believing that Upper Clements could become a place where artists, residents, and visitors could come together to celebrate creativity.

Like many good ideas, it sat quietly for a while, waiting for the right moment.

When a new board was formed, the idea resurfaced. We believed it was worth pursuing, and the board voted to make it happen. Our president, Tim, took a leap of faith by applying for funding through Annapolis County—and to our delight, the grant was approved.

From there, it became a true team effort. Countless hours of planning, organizing, hanging artwork, promoting the event, and welcoming visitors transformed one person’s vision into a weekend we will all remember.

Denise planted the seed. Tim helped secure the resources to make it possible. He hustled for donations and sponsors, pulled together a jury of experts, organized the artists and art. And together, with the hard work and dedication of our entire volunteer board, that vision became a reality.

Thank you to everyone who believed in the idea, supported it, and helped create what we hope will become a lasting Upper Clements tradition. Here’s to many more Art Festivals to come! 🎨❤️

Was it hard work? A lot harder than we thought but it brought a massive group of artists and art lovers together. It really pulled our board together as a team, and delighted our community. It even helped raise a few dollars for the hall, and helped artists sell their work, and get juried to energize their commercial portfolios. Was it worth it? Yep! The board even celebrated with a glass of bubbly after it was all over. We loved every minute and we can’t wait to do it again next year. PS: our youth exhibit is coming in October so please find Young artists that you love and let them know to check out our website!
