Society of Fibre Artists of the Annapolis River We are SOFAAR The Society of Fibre Artists of the Annapolis River. We are those who love to work with fibre and those who appreciate that work.

We are quilters, spinners, knitters, weavers, felters, crocheters, stitchers, rug hookers, dyers, basket-makers, paper-makers and more ! We are beginners and experienced artists. Our mission is to promote and advance fibre-based art and craft through exhibitions, workshops and educational activities.

One of the Best ! Jan Hopkins is a sculptor-fiber artist and basket maker known for using unconventional materials like dried lunaria and orange peels.

Born in 1955, she lives in Everett, Washington, and draws inspiration from traditional crafts and fabrics, creating intricate baskets, teapots, and female figurative sculptures that celebrate women's strength and value.
