🎳 An update on our Charity Bowling Tournament

Sadly, due to the unexpected closure of Fort Fun Centre, our Charity Bowling Tournament can no longer go ahead this August.

We’re disappointed, but our mission hasn’t changed. We’re still committed to bringing public access defibrillators to our community parks, and we’re already looking at other ways to get there.

To the businesses and sponsors who stepped up, thank you. We’ll be reaching out to each of you directly in the coming days.

We have $2000 and $3000 scholarships available to Amherstburg students.

Today, Rotary Club of Amherstburg members Karen and Susanne attended the first-ever “Fund Your Future” event at North Star High School!

We had the opportunity to speak with Grade 12 students about the scholarships available through the Rotary Club of Amherstburg and discuss planning for their financial futures as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives.

As holders of the PFP (Personal Financial Planner) designation, Karen and Susanne were also able to share information and answer questions about topics such as bank accounts, student lines of credit, and financial planning basics for young adults.

Thank you to North Star High School for inviting us to be part of such a valuable event for students!

Some members of the Rotary Club of Amherstburg joined forces with fellow Rotary clubs, local youth volunteers, and friends, at Southwestern Ontario Gleaners in Leamington for a morning of hands on service.

Over the course of just two hours, 22 volunteers worked together packaging dehydrated vegetables into sealed soup mix packages, which were then boxed for shipment within Canada and around the world to help those experiencing food insecurity.

Together, we packaged an incredible 70,000 servings of soup mix! 🌎💙

It’s amazing to see the difference that can be made when people come together with a shared purpose. What an impact just a couple of hours can make!

Big news from the Rotary Club of Amherstburg! 🎉

This past weekend, our club brought home not one but TWO district-level recognitions, and we could not be more proud.

🏆 Hugh Archer Award
Alongside our fellow Canadian Rotary clubs, we were recognized with the Hugh Archer Award for our collaborative work on last year's food insecurity project. This award celebrates clubs that make a real difference in their communities while embodying the Rotary spirit of "Enjoy Rotary" — and that is exactly what this project was all about. From our members to our partners, thank you to everyone who made it happen.

🌟 Council of Governors Award
Our very own Sue Rainhard was honoured with the Council of Governors (COG) Award by District 6400 Governor Linda Morrow — one of the highest individual recognitions a Rotarian can receive. Sue has dedicated years of outstanding service to this club and our community, and she has earned every bit of this honour. Congratulations, Sue!

We are proud of what this club stands for and the people in it. This is what Service Above Self looks like.

🌍 Happy Earth Day from the Rotary Club of Amherstburg! 🌱

Today we put our motto — Service Above Self — into action by heading out to the Greenway for an Earth Day cleanup. Our members hit the trails to do our small part in keeping our beautiful community clean.

Amherstburg is a special place, and it deserves to be treated that way. Thank you to everyone who came out and got their hands dirty today — your time and effort make a real difference! 💚
