Takwim Hijri disusun pada zaman Khalifah Saiyidina Umar al-Khattab r.a. selepas timbul kekeliruan dalam urusan surat-menyurat dan pentadbiran.

Para sahabat kemudian bermesyuarat lalu memilih peristiwa Hijrah Nabi ﷺ sebagai permulaan kiraan tahun Islam, manakala Muharam ditetapkan sebagai bulan pertama.

New Members, Clear Skies, Epic Views!

We officially welcomed our newest members to the PABD family last night, June 13, 2026. We kicked things off with a quick briefing on our mission and a hands-on tour of the observatory at the orientation session. But the true highlight is always stepping outside to observe.

The stargazing in Tutong was absolutely amazing! The clear skies let us hunt down the Milky Way, with members pointing out deep-sky targets and capturing some incredible group photo silhouettes. As dawn approached, we were treated to a stunning old crescent moon and Pleiades conjunction, plus an unexpected Starlink lunar transit.

A massive welcome to the team - here’s to many more unforgettable nights under the stars together!
