Believe Youth Association is a non profit and Non-Government Organization (NGO) and it is the first Youth Association dealing with charity specifically in the area of poverty eradication. We heed the call of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam to contribute in nation building and we believe that the
youths can play a very important role in this society. The vision of Believe Youth Association is to be a proactive youth organization inspiring young Bruneians to be a positive force for good in helping eradicate poverty in the country, thus, achieving His Majesty's Titah of 'Zero Poverty by 2035'. Believe Youth Association will work according to the following five core operating principles:
1. Respect for local community and needs,
Believe Youth Association (BYA) will collaborate with local government authorities, community leaders and other NGO's to determine needs and desires of people living in poverty.
2. Focus on family and individual potentials,
BYA values the natural intelligence of people living in poverty and the potential they have to improve their quality of life and gain self-respect if given the chance. Believe Youth Association projects focus on family, young adults and children. BYA believes that empowering them to improve their income and education level is the best and fastest way to break the vicious cycle of poverty.
3. Creating sustainable change,
BYA only supports initiatives that are owned and managed by families and individuals whom BYA has taken in its programs. BYA believes that ownership of the programs bring lasting and sustainable change.
4. Facilitate Poverty Eradication Awareness Campaigns,
BYA advocates constant awareness campaign activities on poverty eradication. BYA seeks to disseminate information on the status of poverty in the country and how youth volunteers can help.
5. Promote the spirit of volunteerism among the Youths,
BYA encourages participation of the Youths in its volunteering programs and harness their potential to be a positive "force for good".
