Happy adoption to our Greek Gods group - Hades, Apollo and Poseidon! The boys have gone to live with their new family in Sydney and were super excited to meet them today at Liberty Adoption Centre. These guys have been crowd favourites with our volunteers, it's easy to see why, theyre just curious and friendly guys. Have fun boys, we know you'll go well! xx 🐁🐁🐁💜🫶🏼

Today we’re taking a moment to remember a beloved member of the Liberty family, Princess the beautiful beagle who passed last week after a short illness.
It was our privilege to rehome Prinny at the home of her devoted mum Wendy in December 2021. Prinny had been in a research facility for some time and was very brave in making the step out into the world. Once she found her feet, she never looked back and shared five wonderful years as Wendy’s companion and friend.
About six months after Prinny was adopted, her best friend from the research facility, Trudy the beagle, was able to join her so they could live out their days together, bonded for life.
Our thoughts go out today to Wendy and Trudy in their time of loss. We're so grateful for all you did for Prinny. Thank you xx 💜🏡

A first-of-its kind adoption centre is aiming to find permanent homes for small animals used in scientific research.

Today is a great day for animals formerly used in research! We officially opened the Liberty Adoption Centre at Wyong this morning, and were honoured to have The Hon. David Harris MP attend the event, along with our beloved supporters, colleagues and friends. The establishment of the centre is a landmark moment for ex-research animals in Australia, funded by the NSW Government. The Liberty Adoption Centre provides a safe haven for rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and mice when they exit research facilities, a place where they can rest and relax before starting the next chapter of their lives as pets and companions. Can you help us with free cardboard boxes and newspapers? We need a steady supply for our new adoption centre at Wyong, for our animals from research.
We need any type of clean newspaper and rat sized boxes made from sturdy cardboard around 20-40cm long/wide.
You can contact us at [email protected] or drop off at 6 Rose Street Wyong from 10am-4pm Tuesday-Saturday. Just look for the pink Liberty signs out the front.
Our critters would be very grateful!

Find out what we've been building at the new Liberty Adoption Centre, a home away from home for rabbits, rats, guinea pigs and mice while they await adoption into their forever homes. The new centre, located less than an hour's north of Sydney, will be the first of its kind in Australia!
