The Wagga Wagga Demonstration Gardens Inc (DGWW) is an incorporated community organisation. DGWW is all about building a sustainable community through learning and development with the aim of promoting social health and well-being through the promotion of organic gardening and other activities and workshops. DGWW has been operating for over twenty years with the help of itβs members on a voluntary
basis. We currently have an application waiting on approval by Wagga Wagga City Council to double the size of the current garden site for the purpose is creating a community orchard. If the application is approved we will be needing secure fencing materials to enclose the new orchard, similar to the existing fence. Please let us know of any fencing materials no longer required because we want to use recycled or repurposed materials. We are continually planting and collecting seeds for a wide variety of vegetables, flowers, natives and herbs. Pruning and maintenance of established fruit trees continues to keep us busy. Apricot, peach and plum trees are espaliered which makes it a lot easier to manage. Volunteers are rewarded with friendship, cups of tea or coffee and fresh produce thatβs available on the day. We have run workshops on mosaics, garden art, kombucha making, pruning and propagating techniques and laundry detergent making. Our Kidβs Corner continues to grow and develop. Please feel free to call in and have a look around, we are open to the public on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 9am - 12 noon. New members are welcome to join the group of volunteers. You donβt need to be an experienced gardener, we are happy to help you learn all about growing plants. Contact person is Karuna Chinniah on 0408 246 772.
