14` riders and our back up driver Dave, set out from Allora on a beautiful day with a clear blue sky and a slight breeze which was mostly in our favour.

A short stop at Goomburra hall and then onto Yangan for a refreshment stop for a early lunch. We then set out for Killarney, stopping at Tannymorel for a break.

After arriving at Killarney and booking in, Mark who was on the only non ebike, rode up to Queen Mary falls and back.

We all dined together Tuesday night and headed off to bed early, which was a blessing in disguise as Wednesday was to turn out horrible.

Leaving Killarney at 8.45a with a slight breeze in our face, the day started promising but turned into a nightmare as the wind increased with a extra strong breeze and powerful gusts.

A refreshment stop at Yangan with batteries being charged we set off into the gale where we had to charge our batteries again at Goomburra before setting off for the last 17 klms to Allora.

Dave had a busy day arriving at Allora with 3 extra riders in his back up vehicle, Peter S. Who had bike issues just after leaving Killarney and two more riders who ran out of battery about 6 klms from Allora.

Even with the strong winds, everyone enjoyed themselves.

A big thank you to Dave for his support for the ride, it was very much appreciated by everyone.

Oh dear, we are not alone after all!

"On April 7 Hayden Lavigne officially gave up. “You can only lovingly explain the obvious to a spineless politician so many times before you realise they aren’t confused. They’re just choosing to uphold the status quo,” 27-year-old Lavigne wrote online."

Climate change, the cost-of-living crisis and healthy lifestyle goals should make active transport like cycling a no brainer. So why does Australia struggle to build a bike culture?

Some words from NSW concerning e-bike panic from the media and vote seeking politicians not concerned with anything as irritating as 'facts'.

"Late last year, when a man in his 30s riding a legal, speed-limited e-bike was killed by a garbage truck on Broadway in Ultimo – an eight-lane dual-carriageway without any bike lanes – most of the coverage suggested he was on an illegal e-bike, and within hours, NSW Premier Chris Minns announced he would halve e-bike power limits."

Alarmism over the perceived dangers of e-bikes ignores their positive qualities and lets dangerous drivers off the hook.

Brisbane City Council responds to the awful e-bike proposed legislation.

Not a bad effort.

Too much to hope Toowoomba Regional Council bothered?

The BCC has responded to the QLD Govt's proposed e-mobility legislation and says compliant riders are not the source of safety concerns.
