Holly visited Roma State Senior College yesterday, where students spent time painting a banner that reflected what National Reconciliation Week means to them.

It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with students and community organisations, truly embodying the “All In” theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 through connection, collaboration, and shared understanding.

Thanks to the Senior college for always being welcoming toward SWIN!

National Reconciliation Week 2026 reminds us that reconciliation is not something we watch from the sidelines. It requires all of us to be All In.

At SWIN, we believe real change happens through action, opportunity, connection and community. Every initiative we deliver, from Pathways programs and regional outreach to sporting events, education support and wellbeing initiatives, is grounded in our commitment to empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and helping close the gap.

We know reconciliation is not passive work. It takes listening, learning, showing up and creating spaces where culture, community and opportunity can thrive together.

As an organisation, we remain committed to walking alongside our communities, creating stronger pathways for future generations, and ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices are not only heard, but championed.

This week, and every week, we encourage everyone to be All In for reconciliation.

Before the day ends, we want to acknowledge that today is National Sorry Day.

A day that holds deep meaning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across this country. A day of remembrance for the Stolen Generations, for the families torn apart, for the trauma, violence and pain inflicted upon our people through policies designed to erase culture, identity and connection.

For many Indigenous Australians, the apology delivered in 2008 was significant, but with every passing year without genuine action, accountability and change, those words can continue to feel empty.

We acknowledge the truth of this country’s history. White Australia has a Black history. One built on dispossession, violence, silence and intergenerational trauma that still impacts our communities today.

Here at SWIN, we acknowledge the strength and resilience of our people and communities who continue to carry culture, stories and connection despite everything endured. We acknowledge that reconciliation is not performative, it requires truth-telling, listening, accountability and action every single day.

Today, we remember. We reflect. And we stand with our people. 🖤💛❤️

Day Two of the 2026 Western Rivers Cup brought the carnival to an exciting close 🏏🔥

With the women’s competition wrapped up on Saturday, it was over to the men to finish the weekend strong. Congratulations to the McIntyre Stormers on taking out the Plate Final. A fantastic effort, and great to see both the men’s and women’s teams building strong momentum this year.

The Grand Final between the Maranoa Hurricanes and Fitzroy Stars was entertaining to say the least. With Maranoa chasing their title and Fitzroy pushing for a three-peat, the energy was high from the first ball. In the end, the Fitzroy Stars proved too strong, securing their third consecutive championship, an incredible achievement!

We’d like to thank everyone who came along, volunteered, supported, and embraced what the Western Rivers Cup is all about, community, connection and sport.

Day One of the 2026 Western Rivers Cup wrapped up in style 🔥

A huge thank you to all teams who took to the field, the talent, sportsmanship and effort on display were outstanding. The competition once again showcased the strength of our regions and the passion our players bring to the game.

A special mention to our women’s teams who delivered an incredible contest. Congratulations to the Bulloo Suns on their victory over the McIntyre Stormers; both teams played unreal cricket and represented their regions with pride. The skill, determination and energy on display were fantastic to watch.
Well done to all competitors in the women's comp.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Twilight Event as part of the 2026 Western Rivers Cup weekend 🏏✨

It was a fantastic evening bringing together teams, supporters, staff, and community members ahead of a great weekend of cricket. Events like this set the tone for what the WRC is all about: connection, community, and celebrating our athletes.
