We’re seeing this every day.
Co-contributions are pushing people to make choices they shouldn’t have to - between essentials and the care they need.
You don’t have to go without. Hardship provisions exist, and there’s no shame in using them.
If you need support, apply for a fee reduction or waiver - or reach out. We’ll help you get it sorted.

If fees from your Support at Home package are becoming difficult to manage, you can apply for financial hardship assistance through Services Australia which will determine your eligibility. Make sure you take the time to understand both the requirements and the eligibility criteria before applying.
There are options to support your situation which may include having your fees waived, reduced, or deferred for a period. You have the right to ask for support without judgment.
OPAN has created a fact sheet to help you understand the options available if you’re finding it difficult to pay aged care fees.
