We thank you for your comments and truly understand your concerns — we share your frustration whenever a market has to be cancelled.
Our markets are a vital part of our fundraising, with proceeds going directly back into supporting our local community. Over the past 12 months, only four markets have been cancelled, which reflects how committed we are to holding them whenever possible.
Two main suggestions have been raised:
1. Changing the venue
We have explored alternative locations, however factors such as cost, council or private land approvals, insurance requirements, and even police regulations have made it difficult to find a suitable option within the local area. That said, we are always open to respectful suggestions and welcome any ideas you may have.
2. Moving the market to the following Sunday
Unfortunately, dates cannot simply be swapped. All events require council approval, and applications can take anywhere from 4 weeks to 6 months. We secure Terrigal Lagoon bookings well in advance.
