Happy International Sea Turtle Day! ๐Ÿข๐ŸŒŠ

Today is all about celebrating these ancient creatures and highlighting the need to look after them. โœจ

Did you know we often have Green Turtles along the Central Coast, and even Loggerhead and Hawksbill Turtles drop by occasionally? ๐Ÿ‘€

This makes it even more important to make sure we take our rubbish home and fish responsibly - floating plastic bags can look just like jellyfish, and fishing lines and hooks can cause dangerous entanglements.

Let's keep our beaches safe and clean for these magical beings! ๐Ÿ’™

Did you know Australia has committed to protecting 30% of our oceans by 2030? ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‹

This World Ocean Day, we're celebrating Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and why they are vital to a thriving planet.๐ŸŒŽ

These areas act as vital safe havens for marine life, where ecosystems can recover, and fish populations can flourish without pressure. As life inside these zones thrives, it naturally spills over to replenish surrounding waters.๐ŸŸ

The 30 by 30 agreement isn't just about restoring biodiversity; it's about supporting coastal livelihoods and providing economic resilience by ensuring the health of our oceans. When our oceans are healthy, our communities thrive.โœจ
