Have you heard of Box Divvy?

They are a social enterprise working to make fresh, healthy food more accessible through over 400 food hubs. Food is direct from farmer to community.
We would love to start a hub at our Sunshine West site on Thursdays, providing employment readiness training for young people and encouraging them to think about healthy food. We need 15 customers to get started.

It was great for Concern Australia CEO Judith Atkinson and Program Manager Rebecca Meredith to spend time with the Parkville College Transitions Team today to discuss how we can reduce recidivism and create positive pathways through our programs.

The Hon Mark Dreyfus KC MP visited Concern Australia in March last year to launch our Hand Brake Turn Youth Empowerment Program which was developed in partnership with young people.
Today was very exciting as he returned to hear from young people about how they are making the most of the opportunity this support is providing. Also about our new Young Adult Employment Pathway made possible by the Macquarie Group Foundation and Australian Government Local Jobs program.

We were delighted to welcome the Hon Mark Dreyfus KC MP and some of his team to Hand Brake Turn this morning!
We were able to update him on all the work we have been able to do under the Youth Empowerment Program and the development of our Young Adult Pathway.
As well as hearing from our young people about their achievements, he also managed to play some decent pool shots!

As part of the activities of our HBT Youth Empowerment program we have developed a new video proving an intro to the program.
This was codesigned by participants who wanted to help young people understand what happens and what the program can offer to them. And some even agreed to share their own journey.
We’re really proud of their achievements:
