COMING SOON thanks to Austin Lakes IGA

We’re excited to launch the 2025 Austin Lakes IGA Christmas Lights Competition!

***NOMINATIONS OPEN FROM DECEMBER 1ST TO DECEMBER 8TH***

There are four category areas for nomination:

1. Austin Lakes
2. Austin Cove & Land Based Homes
3. Older South Yunderup Canals
4. River and Sandy Cove Canals

There are two ways to win!

1. For your chance to win a $100 Austin Lakes IGA Gift Voucher sponsored by Austin Lakes Common, nominate your favourite Christmas Lights display by emailing [email protected] between December 1st and December 8th. In your email, please include your name and, if known, the address of the nominated property. The great news is, you can even nominate your own house! One nomination per category is allowed from each person.

2. From these nominations, 4 finalists for each category will be selected and displayed at the Austin Lakes IGA for the community to vote on in store between December 11th and December 23rd. The winning house from each category will be announced on December 24th and will also win a $100 Austin Lakes IGA Gift Voucher, sponsored by Austin Lakes IGA.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST SOUGHT - MARKET STALL HOLDERS

Austin Lakes Common, in conjunction with Discovery Cove ELC, will be holding an open day on Saturday, October 18th.

As part of this event, an indoor market will be hosted in Austin Lakes Common.

Expressions of interest are sought for market stall holders. Stalls will be free of charge for this event, though stall holders will need a current public liability insurance certificate. Stall holders will be provided a trestle table for item display. NO MARQUEES. Other display requirements may be discussed.

As the number of stalls available is limited and we want a range of items available, we're only seeking expressions of interest at this stage. Confirmation of attendance will be provided in early September.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

Since the closure of SYRRA (South Yunderup Resident and Ratepayers Association) there hasn't been a local group to support events and ongoing community in South Yunderup.

Austin Lakes Common is open to starting a new group for this purpose. However, we'd need some other local people to be involved.

Do you know of anyone who might like to be involved in running or supporting local community events in South Yunderup?

SOUTH YUNDERUP CHRISTMAS LIGHTS COMPETITION 🎄🎄

🍾LET THE VOTING BEGIN 🍾
The finalists to the Christmas Lights Competition are now on display at the front of Austin Lakes IGA.
Vote for you favourite lights display in each area. You can vote through until the 7th January, and we will announce the winners shortly after that.

The winner in each area will receive an Austin Lakes IGA voucher to the value of $100. (Because we're nice, we will let you spend it at Liquor Barons South Yunderup as well 😆).

A bit of information for the 2025 Christmas Lights Competition - all entries will need to be submitted online. It is very difficult to get people to go around taking photos, so this will be the easiest way moving forwards. MUCH more information to follow, MUCH closer to the time.
