Hey to our incredible South Yunderup Ravenswood community 👋

I’ve got a bit of a favour to ask…

But first - a quick backstory (you know I love a good one 🤣)

I’m Tegan - volunteer firefighter with the legends at SYRVBFB and the one behind this page. Yep… I’m the annoying one running around with a camera (safely) taking happy snaps & vids to share with you all - much to the delight of the crew 🤣

Firstly - a massive THANK YOU.
The support, the engagement, the love on our posts… we see it AND we genuinely appreciate it more than you know.

Now for the honest part…

I’ve lived in this beautiful community for almost 3 years - and up until May 2025 at the Open Day, I didn’t even realise the South Yunderup Ravenswood Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade existed.

I genuinely thought that old fire brigade sign was something from the “olden days” that had been forgotten about 😅 True story!

And with how quickly our community is growing - I reckon I’m not the only one.

A lot of people simply don’t know we’re here.

And as a volunteer organisation, we rely heavily on our community.
Without your support - we don’t exist.

So this is where you come in ❤️

Community Update from RCGI

We’d like to share an update with the community as we settle in with our newly appointed board. Over the coming months, we’ll be reviewing our policies, updating our processes, and planning how we can best support our community moving forward.

After careful consideration, we’ve made the decision not to hold the RCGI Christmas Party this year. These events require extensive planning well in advance, and as we are still organising the new committee, it’s now too late to run the event to the standard our community deserves. This includes securing support services, volunteers, and choosing a date that doesn’t clash with other local celebrations.

Instead, we will be looking at smaller community activities during the Christmas period so that we can still bring people together in meaningful ways.

Looking ahead to 2026, the RCGI is planning to broaden the range of community events offered throughout the year. Our aim is to support the community year-round—not just during the festive season.

We’ll keep everyone updated through social media, posters and notices around town, and via direct communication with our members.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we work towards a stronger and more active RCGI for 2026 and beyond.

We’re excited to share that the Murray Rides: Skills in Motion event is coming up – and we’d love your support to spread the word!

📅 Date: Thursday, 2 October 2024
📍 Location: Dwellingup Skate Park & Pump Track
💲 Cost: Free community event

This is a fantastic opportunity for children and young people to build their bike skills in a safe and fun environment with the guidance of professional instructors. Families are encouraged to join in, cheer on, and enjoy the day together.
