When disaster strikes, Lions are there.

Catastrophic flash flooding and a suspected glacier collapse along the Nepal–China border have devastated local communities, claiming hundreds of lives with thousands still unaccounted for.

​In response to this unfolding emergency, the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) has immediately mobilised a US$200,000 Major Catastrophe Grant. This funding goes directly to local Lions on the ground in Nepal to deliver life-saving essentials—clean water, food, dry shelter, and medical aid—and to begin the long road to community recovery.

​Because Lions live and work within these communities, help arrives without delay. But the need is immense, and every dollar helps rebuild lives.

🤸‍♀️ HELP SEND INDII & SIENNA TO THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS! 🇦🇺🇮🇹

Our community is rallying behind two incredible local athletes, Indii-Rose O’Neill (12) and Sienna Petrovski (16), as they prepare to represent Australia at the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships in Pesaro, Italy next month!

The fundraising campaign has reached $3,653 towards the $15,000 goal—a fantastic start, but there is still ground to cover to help offset the self-funded travel, accommodation, and uniform costs for these four-time national gold medalists.

🇦🇺 HELP SEND OUR LOCAL CHAMPS TO ITALY! 🇮🇹🤸‍♀️

We are so proud to support two incredible local athletes from our region, Indii-Rose O’Neill (12) and Sienna Petrovski (16), who have earned the massive honour of representing Australia at the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships in Pesaro, Italy this September!

After dominating the Australian Gymnastics Championships with 4 Gold Medals, these dedicated girls have put in 20+ hours of intense weekly training to earn their spot wearing the green and gold on the world stage. 🥇✨

Because this trip is entirely self-funded, their families are facing substantial costs for international flights, accommodation, uniforms, and competition fees.

Woonona Lions Club are hosting a brick fair this Sunday from 10am at Tradies Helensburgh

Looking for a fantastic family day out? Then don’t miss the Helensburgh Lions Club Brick Fair this Sunday, 9th August, from 10am until 4pm at Tradies Helensburgh.
