Lots of noise!

Yesterday our Spirited Rail Tours locomotive S307 was put through a load test after some maintenance had been completed.

Safe to say she sounds amazing!

This week is National Volunteer Week in Australia and to celebrate we’d like to thank all of our dedicated volunteers for all the help they do to keep our organisation running.

Whether is cleaning carriages, hospitality, making the newsletter, track maintenance or loco maintenance no job is too small for our team.

The Barry Bush T Class

For those who saw our Deniliquin Tour announcement yesterday those of keen eyes would have noticed T375 on the flyer.

So yes after 34 years we will be returning T375 to the mainline!

Today our mechanical team went to prepare the locomotive for the mainline network, in that preparation T375 was put through a load test for the first time in decades.

Watch below as T375 notches from idle to full power during the load test.

🚂Deniliquin Line 150
We have a special event train celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Deniliquin and Moama Railway Co
❇️Join us for a return journey to Echuca on July 4 & 5, with the option of taking the shuttle to Deniliquin on Sunday before returning home later in the day. The train picks up in Seymour, Southern Cross and Bendigo.
❇️While in Deniliquin- join in the Historical tour visiting historical sites and having lunch at the Town Hall where a display celebrating the railway’s 150 years is present
❇️One way fares are available for the Echuca to Southern Cross for the train enthusiasts to travel with T375 on its return to service after a break of 34 years.

🚧 🏗️ Whilst track construction work is temporarily paused at the SRHC depot, rest assured there’s plenty bubbling away behind the scenes off site.

Matt Tennant and Brandon Parsons have been busy after hours over the last couple of weeks modifying a Type 39 dual gauge switch assembly into a Type 27. Note the difference in the sample pics- 3 switch blades in one, but only 1 in the other. Can you pick which is which?

🗓️ TODAY! Friday 1/5/26.

📣 Social evening @ the SRHC 🚂

Those with a long standing affiliation to the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre will remember the old Friday night gatherings where people came together at the end of the week over a beverage or two, had a laugh, enjoyed a bit of pizza and a bit of social time.

Join us tonight and on the first Friday of every month ongoing up in ‘B box’ from 5pm - 10pm. $15p/head which includes pizza and one can of soft drink or beer 🍻 🍕

Pizza will be ordered at 6pm, please sure arrival prior to this time so we can cater for you!

Beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks also available at bar prices.

• This is open strictly to SRHC members and their accompanying/invited guests.

• The Responsible Serving of Alcohol will be firmly practised.
