Tuesday on “The Lions Den” 88.3 Southern FM Community Block my guest was Maureen Boaler from Story Dogs who shared with us how their literacy program with grade 2 students has amazing results.
Sandringham Lions Club are proud sponsors of Tim and Teddy the dog who visit Sandringham East Primary School each week.

The day didn’t start well, at 8am this morning the square reader locked us out, it needed an updated password that would be sent to our treasurer (that may sound easy, but no he is overseas)
After a desperate call to David from Melbourne Deaf and Hard of Hearing Lions Club, we are so thankful 🙏🏻 to them for lending us their eftpos machine.
The first shift were back on track around 9am (most people fortunately had cash)
The middle shift we’re struggling to keep up with the demand.
We purchased more sausages 🌭and bread 🍞, a testing day but so worth it with all the profits being donated to the Nepal floods.
Oh l should mention lsla from Melbourne Deaf and Hard of Hearing Lions Club 🦁 stepped in to help out in the middle shift, what a gem.

It was back to school today and listen to the preppies read 📖.
This week’s champion was Billy who was a joy to listen to.
The totem poles in the school yard are about to have an upgrade watch 👀 this space.

Our trusty team came together to prep for tomorrow’s Bunnings Warehouse Australia.
We have decided to donate all our profits from tomorrow to Lions Clubs International Foundation Nepal appeal.

Together, these four clubs represent a remarkable 192 years of combined service. That is nearly two centuries spent building stronger, kinder, and more connected communities.

Honouring Our September Milestones

Sandringham Lions Club – 60 Years (Diamond Jubilee): A massive congratulations to Sandringham on reaching your 60th Charter Anniversary! Six decades of service is a diamond-standard achievement. Since 1966, this club has been a cornerstone of its local community, and we salute your incredible legacy.

Warrandyte Lions – 54 Years: Known for their resilience and strong local presence, the Warrandyte Lions continue to be a vital part of their township. Over half a century of service is a testament to the strength and spirit of their members.

Boroondara Gardiners Creek Lions – 42 Years: Celebrating 42 years, this club continues to flourish. Their history is one of consistent hard work and a deep-seated passion for addressing local needs with a smile.

Lions Club of Mitcham Inspirante – 36 Years: For over three and a half decades, Mitcham Inspirante has brought a unique energy to our district. Their focus on inclusive service and strong community ties makes them a shining example of modern Lionism.

Tonight at our Business Meeting Marita from Portsea Camp was our guest speaker, we learnt all about the different camps they hold and the positive impact they have on the kids.

Week 5: today’s Intergenerational session with the year 6 students from Sandringham East Primary School and the residents of Aveo The George was lively.
It was a morning of team building activities - working with your buddy to complete puzzles.
Most would recall your children testing their motor skills with the Tupperware shape o sorter, we were put to task of placing all the pieces and bettering our time each go. It was a test of challenging yourself to improve each time, which everyone mastered.
