RDCAT Social – First Outing for 2026

Our first social trip of the year took us to Bathurst to see the film Wuthering Heights — a very bold and modern take on the classic novel. Many of us remembered it from the old school reading lists, but we forgot to check the rating… Oops! It turned out to be for mature audiences.

Despite that surprise, the costumes, acting, and cinematography were absolutely outstanding.

After the movie we enjoyed a delicious lunch at 132 Restaurant in the Bathurst Panthers Club — and the meals were huge!

A great start to our 2026 outings.

It started with a stop at The Lolly Bug - Little Hartley, then we went to Panthers to see The great British Songbook show, stayed overnight at the choice hotel in Penrith, next to Greygums Penrith where we had dinner in the bistro. Then breakfast at Panthers before we went to see the movie Kangaroo before the drive home.

Been so busy these last 5 months haven't had time to post photos of the trip to Penrith to see the Great British songbook at Panthers.

🎬 Spontaneous Trip to Bathurst – Downton Abbey Finale! 🚍 We took an impromptu social trip to Bathurst to catch the Downton Abbey finale on the big screen—and filled every seat on the bus, which was fantastic!

The film was a treat, full of charm and nostalgia, and we rounded off the afternoon with a relaxed late lunch at Café 132, conveniently located right next to the Metro Cinema.

Smiles all around and great company—what more could you ask for?

Last Sunday we made the trip to Capertee for the Capertee Christmas in July event and everyone had a wonderful time. Looking forward to next year’s event.
