The Rosebud and Districts Men's Shed had another successful Seawinds Cup Golf Day at Eagle Ridge Golf Course. Despite the inclement weather, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day. Shed Update – Outing to Moorabbin Air Museum

The Shed recently enjoyed a visit to the Moorabbin Air Museum, followed by a relaxing lunch at the Cheltenham RSL. Everyone had a great day out — the museum is well worth a visit with its fascinating collection of aircraft and aviation history.

Children and their families are welcome to borrow, donate, or add books at any time. Whether it’s picture books, novels, recipe books, or anything in between—if your household has outgrown it, another family may love it!

We’re proud to support language-rich environments at kinder, at home, and throughout our community. Fostering a love of reading helps build strong communication skills and supports learning across all ages.

The Community Library is accessible 24/7, so pop by anytime to discover something new or share a favorite!

🎄 The Shed's annual Christmas celebration was held last night, and it was a fantastic evening! A big thank you to everyone who joined us.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe, enjoyable holiday season.

The Shed will officially reopen for 2025 on Monday, 13th January. That gives us just enough time to gear up for our first Bunnings BBQ of the year on Sunday, 19th January.

We're excited for the new year ahead, with lots of new projects and plans in the works. Stay tuned—we’ll keep you posted!

The maintenance team at Kingston Heath Golf Club approached the Shed with a request to create wooden wheelbarrows to hold sand for divot repair at the tee boxes of each hole in a new section of the course under development. It’s been a significant project for our Shed, requiring considerable effort from a few of our hardworking members. The project is now nearing completion, with a number of wheelbarrows already delivered. We’re pleased to hear they’ll be put to good use during the upcoming Australian Open Golf Championship 2024.

Another successful project completed at the Rosebud and Districts Men's Shed! This BlazeAid trailer has received the full treatment – cleaned up, repainted, and thoroughly checked for mechanical safety.

For this project, we were tasked with designing a custom support system for two fence wire spinner reels and creating a solution to securely transport fencing mesh on the trailer. The system also allows both the fencing mesh and wire to be easily unrolled during repair work.

The Shed received a call from a local community member asking if we could assemble a beehive. When it arrived, there were a few raised eyebrows! We were expecting a standard beehive, but what was dropped off was a "Kenyan Top Bar Beehive Kit!" Unlike traditional beehives, this design uses horizontal bars for the bees to build their combs naturally, making it popular for sustainable and backyard beekeeping. Luckily, one of our team members is both a beekeeper and a woodworker, so we managed to sort it out—though it took a fair bit of work (let’s just say the pieces didn’t exactly fit together perfectly!).
